Yesterday afternoon, Julian Wilson paddled out at Noosa Point. He’s been in Huntington Beach, California for some time, competing at the Vans US Open of Surfing, which he won last year and scooped a ninth in this year. Jules loves California very much, and understandably so, ’cause he is loved very much there (really, really obvious when you watch the dude enter or leave the water. Or, even try to walk around the contest site). So, the chilled vibes of the Sunshine Coast, where Jules is from and still calls home, are quite the contrast. A calming change of pace, where he can go for a late afternoon surf and kick his tail into the early evening grey without any kinda judgement or scrutiny. Which we find him doing here, through the lens of Jack Dekort.
