Still holding, still holding, still waiting for the Quiksilver Pro, France to resume. This morning, due to ‘unruly swell’ (ASP), the event was put on hold, with a call being made every hour from early morning till 1pm. At noon, Jordy Smith, Johnny Florence, Dusty Payne and photog Ryan Miller went searching for something to surf.
“We decided we couldn’t wait around anymore, as our brains were shorting out and we knew the waves would be good somewhere,” says Ryan. ” We found a decently-protected spot down in Anglet and had whirl. Jordy, John-John and Dusty were going sky high the whole time. The only problem is, that the waves started about 20 meters from shore and ended in dry sand. It was a blast just watching. Here’s John-John flying a massive oop – when he rotated around to look for a spot to land, he noticed he was about to land right on top of Jordy.” Kid goes big.
