Here at Stab, we’ve forever been singing the praises of the foreground. Don’t matter if it’s a middle-aged woman, a warning sign or a group of rocks, y’put something subtle in the foreground and it brings more to the party than you’d believe. As a change of pace, lately some Stab cohorts’ve been vibing on tight, 90’s-style action shots. Regardless, everyone agrees this photo’s a keeper.
During his Hawaiian stint, Australian Heath Joske (pictured here) made the final of the Reef Hawaiian Pro, the best result of his career so far. Heath placed fourth behind Julian Wilson, Joel Centino and winner Joel Parkinson, scoring $4, 900 for his troubles. He was also sporting a formidable moustache for ‘Movember’, a charity run during November in which peeps raise money through sponsors, grow whacky facial hair for a month and donate the proceeds to men’s health organisations.
There’s four people in this shot, but the eyes are still drawn first to Heath. Foreground maketh the photo, but as far as focal points go, hot action always prevails.
