On Saturday, there was a break in the Backdoor Shootout. But, the Weedmaps health and wellness center at Pipe rolled on. There were more IV treatments and massages and non-GMO sustenance for the house. Photographer Brian Beilmann, film-man, Laurent Pujol, and team rider, Koa Rothman, left the WM Pipe house for larger pastures.

Unfortunately, Koa took a spill on his first wave that sent him to the channel. Where he would watch for the remainder of the session.

“Russell Bierke and Albee Layer were getting the best waves yesterday,” said Brian. “It wasn’t the best Jaws. The swell was a little overhyped but there were still some good waves ridden. The problem was most waves weren’t barreling. But, still, it was a beautiful day at Pe’ahi”
