Filipe Toledo, tight and bright with studio light, Lowers
If anyone can get the job done in one wave, it’s Filipe Toledo. It was only yesterday, that you saw the young Brazilian exchange air revs, and filming duties, on one wave with Gabs Medina at Cloudbreak. Prior to that, you may even remember his 10-point ride at last year’s Rio Pro that left jaws ajar. So it’s no surprise that while surfing Lowers yesterday, he managed to snag a bunch of shots, including this one, in just four waves. “I shot this down at Lowers yesterday while the kids were practicing for nationals up in Huntington,” says photographer Tom Carey. “A crew of Brazilians and some other pros paddled out and were lucky enough to beat the daycare crowd. All eyes were on Filipe as he quickly tore open four waves in ten minutes.”
