“The best part about my surf was the one amazing wipeout I took,” says Cory Lopez of a session he had two days ago at Ballito, South Africa. Ballito, scene of the Mr Price Pro, an ASP prime event, has seen some contrasting weather. First day of the event, the waves were perfect and the sun was out (mostly). Then, the following day, it was raining, windy and cold, with waves all over the place. Event organisers were a little rattled as to whether or not they wanted to run. They went on hold, then decided they were on, then went off again for the last three heats, depending on whether or not surfers wanted to go out, and if they were even at the contest site. The sun did show it’s face for one golden moment on the second day, at which point Cory Lopez (pictured here) was the only guy in the water and Ryan Miller managed to fire off this gem.
