Finals Day of the 2022 Vans Pipe Masters starts at 8am HST!

Conditions look fun this morning, with a slowly fading swell through the day. Vans is planning to run the Women’s Round 2 Heats 1-5 (same order as yesterday), followed by the Men’s Final , and then the Women’s Final.

How the event works

There are 40 men in the event and 20 women in the 2022 Vans Pipe Masters.

The men and women will both have two, four-person, 30-minute heats to get their best two waves overall. No priority, no eliminations in the preliminary rounds.

Airs, turns, and barrels will all receive equal weight in terms of scoring. Futuristic surfing will be rewarded.

After the preliminary rounds have run, the four men and four women with the highest two-wave total will advance to the final. Best two waves in the final win $100,000 in the men’s and women’s divisions respectively.
