"The pool is definitely the hardest event to score because everyone's on the same canvas. You can't go, ‘Oh, that guy's waves bigger. We can’t justify our score because it's a bigger, harder wave to surf’. For me, the wave is just too long from start to finish to score properly.  It's like you gotta think about the first section, how you go into the barrel section, how long were you in the barrel for, how deep, how are your turns before the next barrel? There's four sections there and then what do you do after that barrel? How deep were you in that second barrel for? What did you do on the end section? If two surfers both finish waves it becomes a coin flip. Then on top of that there the right is way hollower than the left, so as a goofyfoot it’s probably easier to get deep backside.
