Zeke Lau Manhandles Box And Snapper Rocks, Collabs With Most Barreled Rapper Alive
“Suplex city, bitch”
Rap music has long suffered abuse at the keyboards of the surfing public.
Dane Reynolds once said his criteria to sign surfers to Former was, “Anybody who doesn’t use trap music or Drake on their Instagram reels.”
It makes sense that the aggrandizing, self-promotional swagger of rap wouldn’t mesh well with our aquatic cult of humility. Above, however, exists one argument for rap music in surf clips, courtesy of Zeke Lau and the most barreled rapper alive.
Action Bronson is a 39 year old master lyricist from New York, New York, with an unmistakably husky voice, a medieval castle tattooed on his head, and a lovely aptitude for bodyboarding.

“I look at Mike Stewart you know, and that dude is ageless. He’s fucken out of his mind incredible, and a lot of the dudes that I look up to in bodyboarding now are all young, much younger than me,” Actions told us. “But I look at it, and my physical attributes… I’m an animal, I’m a fucken animal, I feel like I could do anything.”
Set to Zeke Lau’s concerted demolition of Snapper, Action’s blend of saxophonic jazz riffs and lyrics about not being able to touch his toes feels strangely satisfactory. Maybe it’s because, like rap, Zeke has suffered his fair share of surf critique.
As Zeke sits in 39th on the Challenger Series with two events remaining, allow this edit to serve as a reminder of why he — and his in-your-face swagger — absolutely belong on the CT.
