Why Italo Ferreira Deleted* His Instagram

Remember when Italo Ferreira gained 1.3 million Instagram followers in 12 days?
We do.
Over the past few years, the Olympic Gold Medalist, World Champion, and Stab In The Dark star has become one of surfing’s most prolific social media moguls — posting everything from self-portrait board sprays to blonde dreadlocks to highest-ever-wavepool airs while wearing a hardhat.
So, you’ll understand our surprise when we noticed yesterday that Italo had deleted every single post on his instagram… except for one.
“At the moment, he wants to share that he will be a dad,” his camp told us. “It’s a special moment for him, and he wants to express that on social media. The previous posts weren’t deleted, just archived.”
The announcement which remains, is of course, that of his and partner Sofia Larocca’s pregnancy.
