Who Is Pua Desoto?

This year on The Pick-Up (watch ep 1 here), our newsroom hosts include 17-year-old Vans’ team riders Tosh Tudor and Pua DeSoto.

Both are the offspring of longboarding world champs (hey, Joel and Duane), and both have their own unique approach to surfing on the North Shore (and beyond).

Today, Vans released its first episode of Door to Door, a series that looks at the next generation of talent from the Hawaiian islands. Pua is the protagonist of the opening piece, and we learn quite a few things about her, including: she’s one of eight children, she has a deep appreciation for her Hawaiian roots, and she’s actively giving back to the kids on Oahu’s west side — her local community.
