What Was Griffin’s Penance For A 17th At Bells?
Eye-watering.
Griffin came into Bells off the back of his first CT win in Portugal.
Won convincingly. Had a loose afterparty. Got the first 10 of the season.
Told Stab he could see himself winning a World Title.
At Bells, Griffin surfed good. Wasn’t like his form wasn’t there, like he’d peaked too soon.
But O Wright got him.
Griffin spoke about his early-season losses in his interview. “I knew that I’d made strategic errors in Hawaii that cost me wins. I was devastated because I’d put so much time and practice into those spots. The mistakes stung and the lessons stuck with me. Win or lose, it’s the process I enjoy the most. I’m just going to enjoy the process.”
This pro surfer thing doesn’t look so bad if you remember to have fun, keep perspective. Griffin seems good at both.
But he will be chopping onions.
