We Can’t Stop Watching Justine Dupont’s Jaws Barrel
An all-women’s highlight reel from Hawaii’s recent mega-swell.
‘Red Bull Magnitude’ is in full swing and (wo)man are we excited.
The all-women’s big wave video contest has been on since December 1 and will continue through February 28th. With their homepage reading ‘No Significant Swell Expected’, the good people at Red Bull took this time to re-cap the women’s action-packed month of January.
While the highlight is far and away Justine Dupont’s ridiculous Jaws barrel, the clip showcases some of the female talent that’s been pushing themselves. When talking about Big Saturday’s Waimea session, Maddie Anzivino went as far as to say thst “participating in Red Bull Magnitude definitely pushed me to go out, I can’t say if I would have gone out or not if I wasn’t apart of the contest.”
Good on Red Bull and all the competitors for pushing the sport of women’s big wave surfing to new heights. I’ll be watching from the beach.
