Watch: Oscar Langburne’s Jungle Odyssey, Part Two
Cocked back-knee flexing from Nicaragua to Cloudbreak.
Oscar Langburne is a man of impressive contrasts. He rides twin fins that, at times, appear as though he’s captaining a self-propelling safety vessel, and at others, the pinnacle of explosive performance technology.
His attitudes hark back to a lost era, and in his latest edit, How Are Things On The West Coast — the second installment of his two-month odyssey through the Central American jungle — we’re treated to the full spectrum of Oscar’s surfing artistry. He snakes across bloated point breaks, goes high-tech on Nicaraguan beachies (air-game confirmed), and, in a delightfully unexpected twist, teleports to Fiji, where he slow dances with medium-to-XXM Cloudbreak.
Though anchored by nostalgic ideals, Oscar offers a sharp critique of modern surfing:
“The surf industry and the surf world world be so much better if it was female dominated.”
Watch Part 1 here, and be sure to catch Oscar competing in the Uluwatu Single Fin Classic this weekend.
