Thieves Steal $150k In Credit Card Funds From SNAPT Creator Logan Dulien After His Car Was Broken Into While Surfing
Rough week for a beloved member of the surf community.
Last night, longtime surf filmmaker Logan ‘Chucky’ Dulien posted a despondent video to his personal instagram.
“Hey guys,” he begins. “On Monday, I had a meeting to set up all the funeral cremation plans for my mom who passed away. Before this meeting, I decided it’d be good and healthy for me to go for a quick surf so I went down to the River Jetties.
“Long story short, some guy watched me hide my keys on the side of our beach house, and when I went surfing, he broke into the side of our house and found my keys. From there, he broke into my car. He stole my phone, he stole my wallet. He was able to tap into my phone, and then my online banking and at this point has stolen over $150,000. We do have surveillance of him and a pretty good headshot. If anyone can help identify him or just share this so we could try to catch a thief, that’d be greatly appreciated. Thank you.”
From what we know, the perpetrator in the image has previously been arrested in Costa Mesa in March, and may be a part of the Bentley Driving Thieves — a crew known for targeting surf spots. Looks like they may be the same crew that Robbed Tyler Gunter at HB pier — drained his bank account and all his stocks — as well as Dale Rose from Katin in LA county.
“They got into my online banking and wired money from my savings account and my moms account because I had power of attorney,” Logan told us. “Then they transferred the funds to my ATM cards and Amex card, and they could get past the fraud notices because they had phone access to approve the charges. Fucking pros.”
In the vast majority of credit card theft, victims are entitled to a full refund. So, hopefully, Logan will be able to recoup his losses (minus the weeklong nightmare). Regardless, he’s hell bent on stopping any further robberies.
“They have this guys record and I’m putting LA PD , Costa Mesa PD, and Newport PD together to catch this guy and his crew, to prevent them from doing this to anyone else in our surf community.”
