Former Ladybird Sky Brown Wins Olympic Bronze For Skateboarding
She hopes to get some surfing hardware as well in the 2024 games.
Thirteen-year-old Sky Brown won a bronze medal at skateboarding’s Olympic debut in Tokyo and became Great Britain’s youngest medalist of all time.
You may recall Sky from our Ladybirds division 2019 Vans Stab High Presented By Monster Energy in Waco, Texas. BBC News sure does, but they pulled the ultimate core lord move and casually referred to it as an “aerial surfing invitational in Texas.”
BBC also writes:
The 13-year-old claimed bronze in the inaugural women’s park final in Tokyo, and immediately raised the prospect of competing in two sports at Paris 2024.
Her father, Stu, revealed he dissuaded his daughter from trying to compete in surfing as well as skateboarding in Tokyo but admits he may be powerless to stop her again.
“It’ll be up to her by then. She’ll be 16, and it’s hard enough now,” he joked.
Based on the number of airs we saw receive generous scores at Shizunami, Sky Brown should have a fair shot at walking away from the Paris games with some hardware. “I’m going to go surf a lot after here,” Sky said during the interview.”
