Oceanside Community And Beyond Gather To Raise Funds For Maui Fire Relief
Gudauskas brothers and Aloha Visuals premiere new film, “SUNBURN.”
Yesterday, flocks of fair-weather surfers cleared Oceanside’s parking lots a bit early. The summer-kissed crowd rallied in the heart of town to raise funds for the Maui Strong Fire Relief Fund.
After bidding on a dazzling display of fiberglass, the crowd was serenaded by the Gudauskas brothers’ midsummer’s night dream, “SUNBURN.” Tolagos cracked open, tan-lined necks stretched proudly, and it felt good to gather — even though the sobering reality remains that over 100 Maui residents are dead, over 1,000 missing, and 12,700 without reliable food, water, power, and shelter sources due to the recent fires.
Thank you to everyone who donated and placed bids on the prizes. If you missed our event, here are a few places you to donate:
- Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund
- The Maui Food Bank
