Mikey February Didn’t Bring Any Thrusters To The North Shore
A case for chasing your own high in the wide world of surfing.
For the first time in his life, Mikey February arrived to the North Shore without a high-performance thruster or a contest result to chase. Is this the key to a happy life? For Mikey, it seems to be working quite well.
In this segment from The Pick-Up, we pick up Mikey from the Vans cabin for a morning of chasing that authentic feeling of stoke that got us all hooked on surfing. One of our favorite contemporary boardriders, and a sight for sore eyes, Mikey’s approach to surfing on the North Shore has changed, and we’re here for it.
We’ll also round up our progressive craft quiver, 25 boards from 13 shapers, and recap some of the best waves caught on the crafts this past month. Who do you think owned our quiver the hardest?
This is a section from the season finale of The Pick-Up, a Vans and Stab weekly news show keeping you current on the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing and other happenings around the North Shore. Watch the season finale here.
