Let’s Help Luke Davis Help His Father

Time to give back to this San Clemente surf community staple.

Luke Davis’s father, Glenn Davis, has been diagnosed with leukemia.

Glenn, aside from being the father of two prodigious surfers — Luke and Jake — is a beloved San Clemente community member.

Luke said on his Instagram, “My dad has recently been diagnosed with leukemia which is a type of blood cancer. He has recently started treatments and preventative measures to try and combat the cancer.”

Luke told us, “I found out about it about six weeks ago, I’m just coming to terms with it now. Luckily we caught it pretty early — so it’s more about making sure it doesn’t get worse. We want to hold off as long as possible before we do chemo.

I’m just trying to raise money because he’s working extra jobs to try and pay for it. Insurance doesn’t pay for any preventative treatments you want to get — it’s all out of pocket. It’s super brutal, and he works everyday as it is.”

One of those early beneficiaries of Glenn’s support — Ian Crane — told us, “we were always at the Davis’ house, he’s my best friend’s dad. He was always taking us on adventures, having fun — just a classic San Clemente surf dad. NSSA Legend. I remember doing RV trips with him up the coast when we were all kids. He showed us the California surf coast.

It’s cool to see the community react and rally behind him. It makes sense with how cool of a guy he is. He’s the fucking man.”

Luke has organized a GoFundMe to help take some stress out of an already very stressful situation. “I don’t like asking for favors usually,” Luke said, “But it’s easy this time. You gotta lean on you friends like this a few times in life.”
