Kelly Slater is a mysterious fella.

Sometimes he’s nowhere to be found, and other times he’s everywhere at once. Today, Kelly spent over an hour on Instagram live, covering a series of topics.

The first being bitcoin, as the founder of Strike Jack Mallers hops on the stream and explains his app. It’s the same app that Kelly posted a mysterious video of a few days ago, with the caption reading:

“PS. I didn’t get hacked. Haha. Just been working with Jack on a couple of things and wanted to announce it’s up and working now. I’m also one of those crypto guys.”

They discuss how the platform works, its impact on El Salvador, and Mallers’ hope for the future of bitcoin.

Jack hops off, and the live session then steers towards getting money to whale sanctuaries and freeing large sea creatures held in captivity. “They would need to be trained how to hunt live fish,” Slater says.

Professional Poker player/ Instagram dude guy Dan Bilzerian hops on the feed with an idea not long after. His quick pitch comes in the form of a ‘Save the Whales’ NFT, which could potentially raise a shitload of money for the cause.

I know this is a lot to take in at once, but I’m not sure how to make the series of events any easier to understand. You really just have to watch/listen for yourself.

Watch the first episode of what will most definitely soon be a podcast here.
