World-class surf photographer Jimmy “Jimmicane” Wilson suffered a heavy injury while snowboarding in Utah. The man is a wizard behind the lens and is responsible for some of our favorite surf photos. Unfortunately, he will have to go through physical therapy and may not hold a camera for a bit.

According to Shannon Marie:

He was in a snowboarding accident at Powder Mountain, UT, on February 20, 2021. Near the end of the day, Jimmy followed friends down another epic run and slid out on an undercover rock. He immediately slammed the left side of his body into another rock that was also hidden under snow.

Jimmy ended up with six lumbar transverse process fractures, a psoas muscle hematoma, and broken ribs. He is very grateful and lucky that he is not paralyzed or worse.

Jimmy is optimistic about his recovery, but it won’t be easy. He needs extra hands for daily chores and will have difficulty working for some time. He will not be able to carry and handle his camera equipment, swim in the water, or travel for work for some time.

You can help Jimmy by clicking here and donating towards his recovery.
