Has a color rating overhaul ever caused so much chagrin? Surfline recently swapped out their classic cold-hot colored color for this one intended to work ‘like a stoplight, press go on green!’. But of course, 10+ years of associating red with ‘firing’ has baked in its meaning, and consequently tasked many old reluctant dogs to learn new tricks.

One upset user went as far as to create a Disqus handle titled, ‘Surfline paid by Big Spotlight’ before issuing a scathing victim impact statement. I have been advised to change my color rating back to the classic or face cancellation. However, this would give the paying user of my account grounds on which to boot me. 

A dilemma alright.
