Injury Update: Josh Moniz Back On His Feet & Cleared To Fly Home
After suffering a spinal injury at Supertubos in Portugal.
Josh Moniz suffered a spinal injury while free surfing nearby the MEO Vissla Ericeira Pro after falling on a wave at Supertubos.
Pins and needles, loss of sensation, paralysis. The full scary gamut.
Josh underwent surgery at a local hospital and has been recovering since. Today, he finally got the all-clear to fly home.
Tammy (Josh’s mum) Moniz IG caption reads:
Doc told us today Josh is ok to fly home. So we will be making our way home hopefully on Thursday Portugal time. I’m laying here and am so grateful for these moments w these beautiful lives … able to live and laugh together right here and now.
Doc showed us his X-rays, explained the natural healing process. Coming home to an amazing sports therapist and a family that can’t wait to see their brother back. Lots of love to Portugal and this gorgeous city of Lisbon.
