An Impressive Surf Talent Emerges From A Favela In Brazil
Fabrício Conceição is next in line to join the Brazilian Storm.
Fabrício Conceição is a talented 14 year old surfer surfer from Bahia, that now lives in Rio De Janeiro.
His upbringing has been tough, as his family lives in a favela of Rio. Despite a lack of access to new equipment and travel, Fabrício has turned multiple heads in the local surf community.
His surf coach Dionisio Santos told the Washington Post, “Fabrício is one of the names now in surfing in Rio, and all that’s missing for him are the opportunities. He’s an athlete with talent that could take him really far.”
He’s only been surfing for four years and has landed enough podium finishes to earn himself an athletic scholarship at a local private school.
