Hurricane Henri Under Delivers During Alleged Epic 6-8ft Swell
Entire NJ coast sighs in unison.
Poor Surfline can never win.
Any oversell or undersell of the conditions leads to hot potato with the stale term ‘Surflie’ flying around the comments section. Predict a swell correctly, however, and the general public will complain about blowing up the “secret spots” with accurate predictions.
This week’s kicking and screaming report comes from the swell barren East Coast, which has suffered terribly from an inactive summer.
Tropical Depression Henri made a beeline for the North East, promising 6-8ft epic conditions in parts of NY and NJ. The swell was closer to 3-4ft, and wouldn’t exactly fit under the description of ‘Epic’.
For a NY surfer coming off months of flatness, it really wasn’t so bad. It’s just a little disappointing when you’re promised filet mignon and receive a skirt steak instead.
