Gallery: The Blast Units Of Quik’s HB “Repeater” Premiere
Heavyweights, honeys and a house full of surf enthusiasm.
Golden Hour, salty air, Mike Trout Angel’s jersey, and a surf film. This is Huntington Beach in July.
On Friday night many beer-thirsty, pizza-hungry, and swell-starved surf fans descended on The International Surfing Museum on Main Street for Quiksilver’s premiere of “Repeater”.
You can watch the entire film here.
When I arrived at the event, a live DJ was lulling the crowd into a swaying pulse as people chatted each other up (networking vibes) and awaited the start of the film.
Pacific kept beers in hands and a local pizza joint endowed each attendee with some complimentary slices.
Most of the film’s stars were there — Griffin, Rolo, Al Cleland, Kael, Wade etc.
Mikey just had a baby so… amiss.
When the film did get underway and Kael did his foot-free flip, the crowd erupted. You heard beer cans crunch, feet shuffle, and hooting from the cheap seats. It was the kind of grungy camaraderie that represents surf culture at its most primordial.
