Clay Marzo <3s Low Tide
Dry reef = less people + more tubes.
‘New Clay Marzo footage’ is always a welcome subject line in the Stab inbox.
The Hawaiian has a track record of drawing entrancing lines through unapproachable sections, and we never get bored of it.
In the weeks leading up to Vans Stab High Presented by Monster Energy, Clay and a few friends stationed themselves in Lakey Peak to film for the forthcoming Snapt 5. I happened to be there for the duration of his stay, and was fortunate enough to watch a week or so of Marzo magic.
On many occasions, after the tide had gotten dangerously low at the local novelty slab, Clay would paddle out alone. As we stuffed our faces at a beachfront warung, my friends and I would watch Clay gorge himself on countless dry-reef vortexes, always finding new ways to overcome the foamball.
Some of the waves from these sessions are featured in the above Snapt 5 B-Side reel, but trust me, he’s got a lot more magic on the memory card.
