Challenger Series Disciple Exiled To So-Cal Surf Purgatory

Maxime Huscenot makes his offering to Laird.

Ah, the mercurial life of a decade-long QS grinder.

Quite a strange concept, really.  To be a pro surfer, while still spending tens of thousands of dollars to continue being a pro-surfer. We’d imagine it’s emotionally taxing.

It’s also probably pretty damn fun.

From irreparable Huntington hop pressure dents to fleeting Championship Tour appearances, Maxime Huscenot is a Frenchman who has undoubtedly experienced all the ups and downs of being a career-long QS surfer.

In an effort to “just fit in” at the Huntington US Open, Stab’s very own Mikey C touted one of Maxime’s sacred Challenger Series scriptures.

Never forget. Photo: WSL Screenshot (Please don’t sue us).

Huscenot 29:11 states, “May Laird guide you through the Round of 96.”

And while the superfood guzzling demigod did not, in fact, use his Malibu magic to guide Maxime through the first round at Huntington, the Frenchman was exiled to Challenger Series purgatory.

Well, actually he just went to Lowers and completely demolished every section in sight.

The above edit stands as proof that, while the boys in colored rashies were hopping and stomping up at Huntingon, Maxime was hucking saltwater to the heavens on every turn. An offering to Laird, maybe?

While we can’t absolutely condone the bush-doof style music selection in the above edit, we can endorse the raw demolition featured in every clip.
