Bronte Macaulay Passes On Chance To Qualify For The 2022 CT

“Sorry about the rant— just thought I would be transparent and open with my plans.”

West Australian tube bandit and multi-year CTer, Bronte Macaulay, announced on Instagram today that she will not be competing in any events for the remainder of this year.

An 11th place finish this year left Bronte just two spots short of qualifying for the 2022 CT. The Challenger Series would be Bronte’s chance to keep a spot on tour, but she has other plans. Her caption reads:

I didn’t requalify for the 2022 world tour and I’ve decided not to compete for the rest of year and to head home. Being with family and close friends in Gracetown is what I value the most above anything else. I want to be present and be there for them as they’re for me. That’s what feels right at this point in time.

Traveling in and out of Australia is also really difficult at the moment. I’ve got 2 weeks in quarantine in Sydney and then hopefully can get back home to Western Australia depending on the border situation. Thanks so much to everyone who supported me this year! I Really don’t know what I did to deserve such good people in my life. Sorry about the rant- just thought I would be transparent and open with my plans.
