A New Air Section, House Music, Fermented Drinks, And The Hottest Day Of The Year.
Australia’s wave pool QS event starts today.
Today is slated to be the hottest day of the year in Melbourne.
This is nice for Sierra Kerr, Joel Vaughan, and Dakoda Walters, who are statistically most likely to make their heats and spend the majority of their time in amphibious circumstances.
Joel and Dakoda (our ol’ Stab Highway mates) are fresh off first and second-place finishes in this very same pool for the Boost Mobile Air Jam and Sierra is, well… Sierra. (Sierra’s signature film, Pre-Kerrsor is dropping on Stab Premium on Feb. 15th)
Plus, this year the Wavegarden team at URBNSURF Melbourne conjured up a devious air section specifically for this contest, which should suit our Lady Bird and flyboys.
The event will be streaming live on the WSL website and YouTube as well as on 7plus, an Aussie streaming site.
This is a WSL QS 3000 event, meaning that it is exclusively for QS surfers in the Australia/Oceania region who are looking to rack up points to burst their way onto the Challenger Series.
There will be live music, free booze, and robot waves running all event long for those in the Melbourne area.
