A 6-Minute Clip That Could Put “Morocco” On Your Google Flights History.
A Frenchman finds gold south of Gibraltar’s Strait.
“We’ll always have Paris…” goes the famous line from Casablanca (1942).
Charly Quivront foresook Paris and landed 130 miles south of Casablanca in Safi — land of snake charmers, colorful spices, hashish, and influencers looking for hashish. “We were in Hossegor with my friends and a big storm was on the way so we escaped to Morocco,” said Charly, “We went on a strike mission to Safi, a wave that I’ve always dreamed of surfing.”
This video is part of a series that Charly produces called, “Oú est Charly?”. It’s a… Vlog, for lack of a better term.
But it’s one of those more taste-y vlogs that are 95% (ludicrously good) surfing and only 5% cute words on camera.
And there is something fresh in this Morocco edit — a beachbreak, “The most surprising experience there was to be able to surf a beachbreak that was similar to home [Hossegor] but in Morocco with only a few friends in the water.”
Merci, Charly. “Here’s looking at you, kid.”
