10 year-old Zoey Kaina packs a mean punch into a small package.
Believe it or not, Michael Ciaramella wasn’t the smallest person in the lineup at Vans Stab High, Central America, presented by Monster Energy. It was Zoey Kaina, a 10-year-old Ladybird from Hawaii.
Despite the mammoth sets and unrelenting tide push that stormed through our slice of Costa Rican heaven, Zoey just kept paddling. The only thing more inspiring than watching Kaina navigate through the relatively overhead waves was witnessing her tear those very same walls to smithereens.
The grommet, the one who always wore a blue bucket hat and ear-to-ear smile, impressed us all with her tenacity towards the lip.
