Watch: The Blud Brothers Are Back For Round 2

Like your favorite celebrity couple, Micky Clarke and Rolo Montes aren’t ever allowed to break-up.

Marketing managers’ dreams are filled with lush, evergreen, and (most importantly) organic content…

Moments that happen naturally tend to stick around far longer in the minds of the viewer. Remember the ‘Cashmeousside’ girl’s viral Dr. Phil tirade (turned illustrious rap music career)? Or Peyton Manning saying he’s about to drink a boatload of Buds after winning the Super Bowl with the Broncos? How about that Mikey Wright save, which netted him 100k IG followers overnight?

Point being: naturally occurring content is nearly impossible to plan. Micky Clarke and Rolo Montes, however, have seemingly cracked the code.

It was just last March that these Quik bros dropped their first Blud Brothers edit. The clip, which featured the two demoing Rolo’s home island of Puerto Rico, didn’t require much (if any) planning given their off-screen chemistry is as strong as their cumulative rail game. This resulted in what I believe to be one of the year’s most underrated edits… and the best part: they’re back for more.

How’s that knee placement?

While the first iteration took them to Roloville, this story starts in Ventura. Rolo flew in to stay with Micky/Eithan early in the summer, which if you live in California you know is not optimal timing for waves in the area. Knowing that, the two made the trek down to Mexico with long, right points in mind. Lo and behold, that’s exactly what these two regular-footers found.

As far as their surfing styles are concerned, I cannot think of a more fitting metaphor than Harry Nilsson’s refreshing-even-to-this-day 1971 hit ‘Lime And Coconut’. You know how it goes…

The edit builds towards the last three minutes, which features 180 seconds of straight bangers filmed on 8mm by the astute Hunter Martinez. We hope Micky is icing that board with the red tailpad as it seems to be squirting out of turns. And as for Rolo? Well if you’re not a fan yet, 9:57 should do the trick for you.
