One Brand Produces The All Around Most Comfortable And Stretchiest Suits Of 2018

Jack O’Neill’s neoprene brand leads the warm and cozy way in “You’ve Got Winter.”

For the entire selection of suits, head here.

Sliding into a dry wetsuit while wet is an awkward experience. It’s sticky, and much more difficult than slipping a dry body into a cold, wet piece of neoprene.

After Jesse Guglielmana, Noah Wegrich, Blair Conklin and I spent a week up in San Francisco blowing through multiple suits a day, we all collectively agreed we’d prefer to never put on a dry suit with damp skin again. As uncomfortable pulling a soggy suit out of your car and slipping into it is, the ease of entry is, in fact, much more pleasant.

During our wetsuit test, O’Neill’s were the easiest on and off. So, the fact that their Hyperfreak Comp suit won both the Stretch and Comfort award, then the award for best wetsuit under $315USD ($299!) is unsurprising.

After we’d all sampled 17 wetsuits per person over the course of five days, we tallied in our votes. Noah, Blair and I all nominated O’Neill’s Hyperfreak Comp as the most flexible and comfortable. Noah went as far to claim, “that suit feels like you’re wearing silk. It’s comfier than your fleece sweats,” pointing to our filmer, Taylor Curran’s legs. Meanwhile, Jesse gave Feral the nod.

Jack’s legacy also submitted their Psycho Freak to the LUX category. The suits run a fair bit of coin, $530USD, and, like the Hyperfreak, are made from their third generation of Techno Butter technology. The Psycho Freak is warmer, and more durable that the Hyperfreak; it’s an expensive, yet worthwhile investment. They also sent along their Psycho One and their Psycho Tech models, and each and every wetty did its job well – although since we were all testing different versions of the Psycho, ranking the suits by category proved difficult.

But, by the end of our test, we came to the conclusion that any suit constructed out of the Techno Butter 3 technology, is super-freaky-cozy.
