Jay And The Gang In Bali

Jay Davies is a muscular man. He bear-handles waves. And, funnily enough, when he answered the phone to Stab this morning, he was on the way to the gym. “Nah, not to work out,” he laughed. “I had ankle surgery last month, so I gotta go keep up the rehab. I’m back in the water in around three weeks, hopefully.”

Before he went under the knife, Jay did a stint in Bali with the Rusty team. Although it rained a lot and the waves weren’t amazing (says Jay), the fellas had an awesomely-fun coupla days. But even then, Jay’s ankle was holding him back: “I was behind the eight-ball. I felt like I was just driving around the island the whole time, and my ankle was giving me so much grief. It certainly wasn’t the best trip I’ve ever had there, but it was still really fun.”

Rain? Bad waves? Then, this clip tells a lie. The level of quality and consistency that Jay’s blog clips have risen to is rad, and this one’s a prime example: The vibe of it is super sweet, with all that shining sun, bath water and tropical beauty – it makes you just wanna blow outta work and take the next flight to Bali. Oh, and the song’s rad, too – Sally Go Round The Roses by The Jaynettes. “We didn’t feel like we had tons of footage for this one, so we just tried to make it fun and use a cruisy song,” says Jay. Mission accomplished, if you ask us.
