Mick Fanning Loves Animals

Animals just seem to grow bigger in Africa. They’ve got elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and oversized Great Whites, the last of which nearly tore Mick Fanning in half in 2015. Despite that harrowing experience, Mick feels a great deal of empathy for the animals of Africa (albeit the terrestrial types), many of which are on the verge of extinction thanks to immoral and/or illegal hunting practices by people who are definitely compensating for something.

Here we see Donald Trump Jr., who appears shocked to hold something with such girth. 

Out of Mick’s fondness for animals spawned a relationship with WildArk, an international conservation org that was in dire need of funding for its African operations. Through an Omaze campaign last year, Mick was able to raise $96,000 USD for WildArk, which will help fund field ranger training, anti-poaching K-9s, and aerial surveillance units at Kruger National Park. All of this to help protect elephants, giraffes, rhinos and more from bloodthirsty poachers. 

Mick also got to visit WildArk’s training facility, where he was “safely” attacked by an anti-poaching K-9. Yikes!

Thanks to Mick and WildArk, endangered African species will have a better chance at surviving these dark times. Stab wishes WildArk the best on its mission to hunt the real animals in Africa — rich white dudes with psychopathic tendencies.
