Quik’s Global GM Brad Blankinship Resigns

Quiksilver’s Global GM Brad Blankinship has tendered his resignation, slated to take effect next Friday, as reported by Shop Eat Surf. This strategic departure unfolds in the backdrop of imminent changes, with the company on the cusp of finalizing its acquisition by the licensing juggernaut, Authentic Brands Group.

Having assumed the mantle of global leadership at Quiksilver in November 2021, Blankinship’s tenure followed his two-year stewardship of RVCA as Global GM. Notably, he had served as RVCA’s President from 2006 to 2010, a period marked by pivotal growth and transformation for the Costa Mesa-based sportswear brand. 

Before returning as RVCA’s GM, Blankinship founded two companies that were eventually acquired, and had a brand and product leadership role at Igloo.

Under Blankinship’s tutelage Quiksilver witnessed a series of defining milestones, including the addition of current World #3 Griffin Colapinto to the brand’s roster and the cinematic releases of “Saturn” and “Repeater” that he executive produced.

Reflecting on his journey, Blankinship conveyed his sentiments to SES, stating, “I am extremely proud of the work the team has done at Quiksilver. It has been a privilege to be part of such an iconic brand. I wish nothing but success for the brand and the amazing people connected to Quiksilver in the future.”

Blankinship is the only brand global general manager that has left Boardriders during an extended sale process that has caused uncertainty and challenges at the company.
