Fit for a Queen

Designed by Oahu’s sovereign of surfing herself, this Volcom Women’s x Coco Ho collab was a 2023 ‘Best Swimwear’ shoo-in

It should be no surprise that a swimwear and apparel collection designed by style icon and queen of Oahu, Coco Ho, is, in a word, adorable.

Style: Volcom Tropicoco Reversible Crop Bikini Top & Reversible Skimpy Bikini Bottom

Color: Citron

Price: $65, $45

And yet, I was still taken aback by how comfortable, functional, and straight-up FUN the Volcom Women’s Tropicoco reversible swim set was to wear. A joy, actually. From its playful colorway to its clean lines, snug, supportive fit, and sustainable fabric blends, I loved everything about this pairing.

Top: A perfect complement to the slight skimpiness of Tropicoco bottoms, this ultra-practical bralette style top features contrast seams, subtly reminiscent of 90s sporty spice flare (my personal fave). Plenty of coverage on top, along with a snug, secure fit, offers superb security with no need to worry about anything moving around. Paddle, pump, and play your little waveriding heart out.

Bottoms: Though leaning toward the “skimpy” end of the spectrum, the lightness of these citrus-hued bottoms lends to their appeal. The occasional violent duck dive may result in some momentary adjustments upon emergence but overall, their silky soft material, and minimal details result in a less-is-more experience that leaves you feeling light and lively in the water or on the sand.

Favorite Features:

  • Modern, sporty cuts blur lines of playfulness and practicality
  • Ultra lightweight, sustainable material (87% Greenlon®, 13% Elastane Jersey)
  • Reversible options across the collection offer two looks in one!
  • Subtle stamped logo detail

Overall: Owing to its sporty silhouette, super-lightweight fabric, subtle details, and the option of reversibility, this Tropicoco combo is, to be frank, the ideal bikini for long beach days with endless rotations from surf to sand and back again. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
