Noa Deane x LSD Reveal Their New “Chlorine” Model

Noa Deane is a creature of habit. He knows what he likes and knows what he doesn’t. One of Noa’s established preferences are his 6’1 LSD squash tail thrusters. If he’s feeling adventurous, maybe he’ll swap that squash for a swallow, but outside of that, he’s made it clear these are his blades of choice.

Long-time shaper Luke Short has been pumping these out for Noa for years, forming a relationship that’s led to one jaw-dropping clip after another. This 6-foot-1-inch status quo is one of the reasons Noa was such an enticing subject for our most recent iteration of The Electric Acid Surfboard Test, which saw Noa testing 11 different left-field designs from some of the world’s top shapers. It’s also proven to be the catalyst for Noa and LSD’s newest model “The NOA Chlorine”.

Upon receiving invitation to our first Stab High back in 2018, Noa was eager to build a board specifically for Waco’s infamous wedge. With the wave being an (albeit punchy) chest-high, Noa and Luke were concerned his normal boards would be too long to fit into the curve of the chlorinated ramp. Thus, “The NOA Chlorine” was born. LSD took Noa’s every-day board, condensed it down to a 5’10 and added ¼ inch of width to maintain volume. He lowered the entry rocker slightly to increase speed on the take-off, increased nose and tail width a hair, and added thickness under the chest to prevent the board from becoming a slug. The result? A resounding success.

Noa not only won our inaugural pool party, but did so in convincing fashion, sticking 2 massive varials on both the right and left and walking away $25K richer and with a new board model to boot. Despite its convincing name and history of success in the pool, Noa’s been loving this model as a groveler when the waves lose a bit of push.

Whether you’re planning a trip to Texas or simply looking for a new every day grinder, “The NOA Chlorine” is a new model with an established pedigree that is certainly worth your consideration.
