Launching Airs Just Got (Slightly) Easier

Filipe Toledo has a new set of signature fins, and they’re geared towards the space above the lip. Which makes sense, considering how much time the young Brazilian spends in there, while also remaining handy in terms of carving up a face. But, how is it possible that a set of fins can both be light enough for flight and strong enough for full-rail turns?

Well, we’ll tell you.

The FCS II Filipe Toledo Athlete Fin brings together two of FCS’ most popular templates, reworking them with a new, ultra-light 3D foam core. That means FCS has combined the manoeuvrability and quick response of their best selling Performer fins with the hold and drive of the MF, or Carver. Bringing the two together into a single product that’s created with a high density pressed foam core which adds strength and reduces weight.

They’re built to both drive hard off the bottom and hold power through longer arcs, so these fins are meant to be pushed hard. Also, thanks to their construction, they’re the lightest fin in the FCS range and the first of their kind in the market. Now, we can’t promise that you’ll be able to nail air-revos like Filipe after popping these in, or that the average punter will be able to feel the difference in float. But, the placebo effect’s a real thing!
