Aritz Aranburu qualified for the CT in 2008 and was there for three years and some change, his best result being a 3rd in Tahiti. But this is not where the Spaniard’s surfing legacy lies.

Aritz is one of the most tube-savvy gents who’s ever graced our sport, as proven by his latest edit with Oscar Valencia. Visiting several renowned holey sites — from Europe to Hawaii to Tahiti and beyond — Aritz displays a read of the ocean that far surpasses his best-ever ranking of 27th in the world.

He’s also a true tube voyager, seeking untapped holes in faraway locales. The endless (and empty) sand-bottomed right at 2:21 speaks for itself.
