Caleb Graham
Is that guy playing guitar and doing an air reverse?
Caleb is a filmmaker based in Sydney who still considers Yamba home.
Caleb started out his filmmaking career shooting the densely-concentrated pool of talent around Yamba (Laurie Towner, Bryce Young, and Dan Ross), before changing tack and working as a documentary filmmaker and DOP, working for bands like Parkway Drive, interweb overlords like Google, and outlets like ABC, SBS, and Vice.
I’ve been shooting now for well over a decade, and it all started filming my friends dragging the reefs and rockwalls around Yamba. As time went on more surfers of the standup variety became regular fixtures in those lineups, and as the years went on I spent a lot of time filming local guys like Laurie Towner, Bryce Young, and Dan Ross. I never stopped shooting surfing, but as I started to build a career out of filmmaking I set my sights on becoming a DOP and Documentary filmmaker, going on to work on projects for bands like Parkway Drive, interweb overlords like Google, and outlets like ABC, SBS, and Vice.
“These days I’m still chasing swells for fun, enjoying the novelty of being within last minute strike distance of the South Coast – an area I’ve been hitting up since I was a frothing young booger in the mid 2000’s,” says Caleb. “My favorite shots are still the ones captured floating around in the ocean, and not something I can imagine getting sick of anytime soon.”
