Surfing’s most charming couple, Jack Freestone and Alana Blanchard, certainly can. As a matter of fact, they’ve been feeling it for over four years now. Their relationship has been the source of much happiness, many adventures and a plethora of good times, but now it’s creating something much bigger than all that. They recently told Stab that they’re expecting their first child. 

We’re quite fond of 25-year-old Jack’s nimble, quick and progressive surfing. In his second year on the World Tour, he currently sits at 26th in the rankings — a place we believe is much further south than what his talent warrants. Perhaps a bit a dad strength will give Jack the boost he needs to consistently earn the results he deserves.

Alana, forever the darling of surf media, spent a few years on Tour but has shifted her focus away from competition lately. Instead, she’s been travelling, shooting, having more Instagram followers than any professional surfer not named Gabriel and promoting her vegan lifestyle.

The couple has already parented a small pack of dogs including Kev, a self-described small town bulldog named after Kevin Durant. Their baby is due in the next 20 weeks. Right now, it is only a collection of expanding cells slowly taking the shape and structure of a human being. Yet, somehow, it is already both better looking and more talented than everyone else.
