The WSL Just Requested Your Forgiveness
“Now you are able to watch our live broadcast on the WSL website, the WSL app, and of course on Facebook.”
The WSL is very sorry that the Facebook roll-out sucked. Sure, they had more than half a year to prepare. Yeah, they promised that the kinks would be worked out before it went live. Yes, they severely underestimated the fallout of partnering with a social media company in the throes of its own PR debacle.
But it’ll be better in the future. They promise.
Today the WSL dropped an item on their site begging for your forgiveness and thanking you for your patience, placing the blame on Facebook, rather than shouldering it themselves.
“Thank you again for your patience and support as we continue to work through the Facebook transition and challenges that Facebook has been having on some devices.
“They are working hard to resolve the issues and we are both committed to delivering the best possible experience going forward. We’d like to remind everyone that we have temporarily re-instituted the broadcast across our WSL channels for the remainder of J-Bay and for the US Open.
“Now you are able to watch our live broadcast on the WSL website, the WSL app, and of course on Facebook. Again we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced last week.”
As far as mea cuplas go it’s fairly worthless. I do the same thing when my wife comes home and finds me fall down drunk.
“I know I was supposed to do laundry. I plan on doing it in the future. But you know you can’t leave scotch in the house. I’m just gonna drink it all, get happy, then sad, listen to Morrissey, vomit, and pass out before 4pm.
“I’ll endeavour to act better going forward.”
It’s empty nonsense and she knows it. I don’t drink because of her. I drink because I’m an alcoholic.
But it’s enough to mollify, keep the gravy train rolling, and convince her that she didn’t make a terrible mistake by letting me steal her youth. How long it’ll keep working, I have no idea.
