“I got it! It’s the beat to funky town!”- Towelie. There’s a new towel in town, and no it won’t get high with you. But if that’s your jam, you can get high on it. Slowtide’s been dying fabric, mixing paint and manipulating pixels to turn their fibers into works of sure-drying art. The founders of Slowtide are a collaboration of creative directors and graphic artists from such brands as Quik, Hurley, Nike, Huf and Billabong amongst others. Towels are the third most important part of surfing behind a board and a wettie. Yeah, you can do without them and hope your buddy has one but nobody likes sloppy seconds after a cold session.
If you’re aimlessly drifting around the dirty streets of Venice Beach this evening, Slowtide’s having launch party at General Admission, 52 Brooks Venice Beach, Ca. Art courtesy of Tyler Spangler will be on display, music will be slipping it’s sweet nectar into the air and drinks will be flowing. We can tell you right now, it won’t be a bad time.
If you want to snag yourself some of these art driven fibers head right here.
