Vans x Mikey Feb Is Everything You’d Expect And More
A long awaited range with impeccable timing.
A little over a year and a half ago, Mikey February signed a head-to-toe deal with Vans Surf.
Then in the final stages of his single year on tour, Mr. February penned a five-year deal that would support his endeavors outside of competition. Whether that be dancing across Mexican points on prototype twin pins to the sweet sound of Marvin Gaye or descending Zambian mountain ranges to surf a once-in-a-never river wave with his buddies, one thing is for sure: the Vans x M-Feb marriage has been off to a great start. As a result of the sweet success, Vans has doubled down and given Mr. February his own range.
The drop includes tongue-in-cheek tee graphics that play on the Vans’ silhouettes (Classic, Authentic, Old Skool) as well as a black/grey footwear rollout of the Sk8-Hi 138 and the UltraRange EXO accented with yellow stitching. Hell, they even included a curated Spotify playlist so you can feel the rhythm that guides Mikey’s glide. The highlight, however, are the trunks. An exclusive print with black-and-white side stripes in classic Vans fashion, Mikey picked the Surf Trunk 2.5 Panel because in his words, “It’s the best of both worlds”.
In the world of basketball, last year’s NBA MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, was awarded a signature shoe by Nike—the first international player to achieve such a feat. While inherently different, we’re extremely happy to see P.O.C members of the surf community getting the long awaited and justifiable recognition they deserve. Swipe above to check the range, click here to cop it, and stay tuned for more output from the enviably happy pairing that is M. Feb x Vans soon.
