Mason Ho Vs. The Hurricane
Two forces of nature collide.
For an island that’s smack dab in middle of the biggest ocean on Earth, Hawaii sure does seem to attract a lot of hurricanes.
If you look at the sheer size of the Pacific and Hawaii in relation to it (hint: if you’re zoomed out far enough to see the entire Pacific, Hawaii is but a speck of volcanic ash), it seems improbable that cyclonic systems would make contact with the chain on a regular basis. And yet, they do.
This year it was Douglas, which is a very formal name for a Hurricane if you ask me.
Doug provided some surf to the islands, albeit brown and misshapen. “Victory at sea” was the call from the local Hawaiian news co., and Mason Ho reveled in every knuckle and kink.
Choosing a nearby rock wedge as his battleground, Mase faced Douglas with but a single polyurethane spear.
Who won?
