Welcome to the festive season. ‘That’ feeling is certainly in the air. And while a lot of people will tell you that Christmas isn’t so much a time or season as it is a state of mind, Stab believes that in Oz, Christmas is so perfectly accompanied by summer that as soon as the weather starts tuning up, we start looking for ways to best enjoy it. Three of which we’ve included here…

1. Find seclusion: Yes, christmas is so very much about family and togetherness. But, while everyone’s being with their families and being together, it makes it way easier to find an empty lineup. That beach that’s pretty brill but not always worth the drive because, like, a lot of other people make the drive and you may as well just surf your local with a bigger crowd? Make the drive on Christmas and you’ll have it to yourself. Plus, so many people go on holiday or travel to wherever their extended fam lives, that you’re gonna be peeling through way slimmed-down lineups.

2. Do it right: You’re not gonna spend your whole time surfing, so when night falls, do it right. First, Stab believes any mix by Andras Fox will provide the relaxed atmosphere you’re chasing. Second, winter snow doesn’t surround our festive season so why should we chew on meals designed to warm? Be real, don’t roast a turkey, go scoop a bunch o’ prawns, maybe a lobster tail if you’re feeling sexy, and keep it light for the morning session. Then, of course, there is liquor. Christmas makes Stab wanna drink something a little more rich in flavour, like a good bourbon. On that front, the Jack Daniels Holiday Select is a good choice. You’ll probably wanna visit JD’s Christmas portal, since they’re giving away five bottles of Holiday Select every day, to those who can win the Barrel Tree game. Dive over here and play it. On top of that, you could also win a trip to the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, for you and seven pals. Which is a pretty excellent Christmas gift and a damn fine time. To win, you’ve just gotta purchase a JD premix or whiskey and submit the unique code you’re given. Stop whatever you’re pretending to do and go indulge.

3. Give the right gifts: Swoop into a present from your old pals at Stab. We’re currently offering a Summer Big Book and T-shirt combo for a neat 50 skins. The big book features profiles on Jack Freestone, Noa Deane, Balaram Stack, Brendon Gibbens, Ford Archbold and more. On the flip side you’ll find the delightful Owen Wright and Sammy McManus, looking delightful. Plus, of course, our favourite photography from the year that is too good for digital, and even too good for regular print – so good, it is reserved for a book. Our book. This won’t fit in a stocking and it ain’t a stuffer, but it’ll certainly sit beautifully under a tree and then later, on a coffee table, and then later still, in your lap. Then there’s the shirt selection. Prints by designers Jonathan Zawada, Shane Sakkeus and Shinya Dalby. A full range of ’em too, which you can flick through right here. If you’re as unorganised as us, hopefully you’ll appreciate the punch this deal packs, especially considering reasonable price. We live to give. Merry Christmas.
