Welcome back to Filmlyfe, a series of journeys in which we swirl through time and space, and bathe in the blissful technicolor aesthetics that only an auteur can sling. The premise we’re rolling with? Men of the lens answer questions for us with visuals instead of words. It’s all motion. It’s a view into their souls.
Step right on up and enjoy the Western Eye that is Tom Jennings. Tom intimately knows, and loves, Australia’s western coastline and her intricacies and her ruggedness. Even if it was unconsciously, you’ve seen Tom’s work before – most certainly in copiousness on this very website, and always surrounded by adoring praise – this is a man who rarely puts a frame wrong and observes quality control. Tom does his best work from the water, which is perhaps the hardest to do well, and because of this we’re afforded his dreamlike visions of the ocean with hypnotic vibes. There’s few others who capture motion picture from the water as well as this man does. Step into his world above.
