A Slice Of Paradise On The Coast Of Nicaragua
In a selection of appealing images from Zak Bush and Slowtide Towels.
Paradise.
For many, the search is through portable screens, Google and social media. And through such, somehow attempting to achieve the grossest trending notion of 2018, “living your best life” – a notion that should make any fully functioning brain gag.
The better of us get out and find. Leave the laptop and the desk chair, jump a plane, in a car, and put ourselves somewhere foreign, slightly uncomfortable and undoubtedly beautiful. Canadian born, Los Angeles photographer, Zak Bush, sits in the latter half of the two. His imagery is moving, whether it’s in Los Angeles of a far-off destination.
“For the past few years, my closest friends have been making an annual trip to the same beach in Nicaragua. It began as a simple way to escape the beginning of winter from New York. Eventually, after moving to LA, the trip became a yearly reunion where we could forget about reality, and catch up at a familiar tropical destination with a perfect wedging beach break,” says Zak.
“Unfortunately, at the moment, paradise lost may be a more appropriate title for this beautiful beach in Northern Nicaragua. Since April, the country’s president Daniel Ortega and his government have been blatantly disregarding human rights. After protests arose due to government cuts to social security, his military reacted violently resulting in approximately 322 deaths over the last 5 months.”
“As these protests continue, my thoughts go out to the people of Nicaragua who have been so hospitable every time I’ve been fortunate enough to visit their country. The locals have always been such generous hosts, excited to share their culture and gracious in the line-up. Hopefully, in the near future, their home can once again be paradise found.”
Here we present, along with Slowtide Towels, Zak’s “Paradise Found”. Below you’ll see a collection of pleasant imagery along with a call to purchase a towel – if that’s your desire.
If you like the idea of paradise, and staying dry either there or at home. Head to Slowtide and take a look at a drop dead collection of towels.
